Note that I tagged this as “holy” although it is only an immitation; I felt that completeness in cross-referencing dicatated it.

The style, according to NYC Architecture is “french Cloisters”, which seems like a bit of a cop-out. What style are those in? Romanesque? Gothic?

The lower portion bears a striking resemblance to the French Peasant style that is found in many movies that feature Joan of Arc.

The Cloisters was funded by John D. Rockefeller, Jr., as was the Museum of Modern Art and Rockefeller University and Riverside Church. Each one has a fascinating story behind it that I’ll leave for Doug to find…
